Visual communication occurs through the representation, interpretation, translation,
and sometimes distortion of information using the vehicles of image, symbol and text.
I examine aspects of these interactions by focusing on common forms of representation
such as maps, puzzles, diagrams, graphs and systems of translations and codes.
I consider microscopic, aerial and cosmic views, sometimes seemingly simultaneously.
I’m looking down, up, in and out as I construct my ambiguous images.
These different elements play along with chance as they are brought together
within my paintings and drawings.
